Polishes are special pastes that make the paintwork shine and remove scratches, dullness and signs of wear and tear. They are mainly used in car body shops and paint shops to restore the shine to an old or damaged surface, but also as a finishing touch after a new paint job.

They indicate how «coarse» the paste is. P10 is the coarsest (coarse cutting) and leaves deep scratches; P20 is medium and strikes a balance between cutting and polishing; whilst P30 provides the final, deep polish. You usually start with the coarsest grade and finish with the finest.

Start with the coarsest grit (e.g. P10) to remove the scratches, then move on to a medium-grit (P20) to smooth out any marks left by the first one, and finish with a gentle one (P30) for a deep shine. If the mark is slight, you can start straight away with the medium one.

The P-One Step 3-in-1 combines cutting, polishing and finishing in a single product. It’s very handy when you want to save time or when the mark isn’t very deep, as you do one job instead of three. For serious damage, however, carrying out the stages separately gives an even better result.

You can work by hand on small areas, but for an even and professional finish across an entire panel or car, it’s best to use a polisher (polishing machine) with a suitable pad. The machine applies the polish evenly and saves you a lot of effort and time on large surfaces.

Yes. The range is designed to work on both modern, scratch-resistant paints and traditional paints. New, hard-wearing paints usually require a bit more vigorous polishing, so it’s a good idea to choose the right polish depending on the type of paint you’re dealing with.

The polishing process itself permanently restores the paintwork, as it removes the damaged surface layer. To make the shine last longer and protect the paintwork from the sun and dirt, it is a good idea to apply a sealing product or wax after polishing, such as Perfect Polishing & Sealing, which combines both.

It’s simply a question of quantity. The 250g pack is ideal for trying it out, for occasional use or for minor touch-ups, whilst the 1kg pack is better value if you polish frequently, as it works out cheaper per use. For a professional workshop, the large pack is usually the most sensible choice.

As well as the polish, you’ll need suitable sponges or wool pads for polishing, clean microfibre cloths for wiping, and a clean, shaded work surface. It’s also a good idea to have a sealing product for the finishing touch. Ask us and we’ll recommend a complete set tailored to your project.
